can't wait to find an excuse to wear this dress (similar one here) that i picked up from yet another online sample sale.. it's a very simplistic silhouette, lending itself to be the perfect canvas for my beloved bubble necklace. 

on another note, as many of you know from this post, i'll be gone for two weeks traveling europe. our final itinerary includes the following cities: amsterdam, brussels, paris, florence, tuscany, capri, and rome -- i can't wait to share my travel experiences with all of you when i return, until then... bon voyage!

madly in love with this top.. i mean its lace, cream-colored and made of silk -- so basically everything perfect formed into one wearable piece. worn with some casual cut-offs to kinda balance out the fanciness of it all.

one of my absolute favorites, such a happily depressing tune: "gotta have you" by the weepies

gotta love taking blog pictures while waiting to be seated for brunch. only reason i could justify wearing both a long sleeve shirt and a long skirt while in the dead of summer was because it actually wasn't over 100 degrees.. which for us texans means fall clothing, obviously. i also like that this entire outfit basically encompasses all of my favorite brands. 

oh, and don't worry, both pieces of clothing were of a very light/airy/silk material (since i know you were all very concerned for my sanity for a second there).

found this dress at strut in the bishop arts district and fell madly in love with the deep emerald/vanilla color combo.. the 90's tied knot was just icing on the cake.

these were taken in the backyard of my home in massachusetts (i know, its a fairytale backyard) -- im not really one to wear animal print since im always scared of the trashy/classy fine line but when your mom buys you a scarf from zara, you better love it and make it work. 

sheer illusion

someone stop me from buying nude colored everything. dont know why im always so drawn to such muted tones, but it does make mixing and matching a ton easier. this dress mixes three different nude shades into one perfect piece and the skirt part is made of some type of magic tulle material that makes you feel really princess-y. bought it a few weeks back and now it's grossly cheap so maybe that's a sign that i need to quit buying things right when i see them, but letsbehonest, that probably won't happen.

if i were asked to choose just one piece from my closet to describe my style (or what i'd hope it to be perceived as, at least).. it would be this dress. nude-ish pink with laced detailing and just the right balance of sexy and sweet aka it's sickeningly perfect. and lucky for all of you lovelies, the dress is currently on sale :)

found this dress during a shopping day in nyc.. it is everything i could hope for: lightweight and simplistic, with just the right amount details in the form of beautiful little gold studs.

kate spade had a sample sale a few weeks ago and after debating with multiple friends on what would be the best, most practical purchase (since i obviously wanted everything).. i chose this beauty (similar one here). pretty sure it was the driving force behind my week-long kate spade purchasing obsession (the purse made me buy the earrings and dress!), either that or im just getting "in the mood" for my nyc trip this weekend...

oh well. im in love with it and don't regret the purchase one. bit.

dallas wind symphony

last night, kevin took me to the dallas wind symphony -- we dined at opus with a few friends for dinner (the butternut squash soup was divine) then went off to our box seats (!!) for the concert: invitation to the dance. yeaaa.. so i thought i played clarinet, but the soloist made me doubt if i ever even knew the instrument at all. "incredible" may be the understatement of the century. here are a few pictures of yet another magical night here in dallas.

after a busy week at work, nothing sounds quite as appealing as going on a cruise to mexico with your best friend. and that is exactly what im doing. me and jessica are sailing off to champagne shores today to celebrate both my birthday and ten years of our best friendshipness. many pictures to come, just for the sake of making yall jealous :)
