take it all

Didn't I give it all, tried my best
Gave you everything I had, everything and no less
Didn't I do it right? Did I let you down?

Maybe you got too used to having me around
Still how can you walk away from all my tears?
It's gonna be an empty road without me right here

But go on and take it, take it all with you
Don't look back at this crumbling fool
Just take it all with my love
Take it all with my love

Maybe I should leave to help you see
Nothing is better than this and this is everything we need
So is it over? Is this really it?
You've given up so easily
I thought you loved me more than this

But go on, go on and take it, take it all with you
Don't look back at this crumbling fool
Just take it all with my love
Take it all with my love

I will change if I must
Slow it down and bring it home, I will adjust
Oh if only, if only you knew
Everything I do is for you

But go on, go on and take it, take it all with you
Don't look back at this crumbling fool
Just take it all with my love
Take it all with my love

blue's egg

currently listening to "county line" by cass mccombs

last meal of the trip at blue's -- we got the short rib benedict (daily special) with steal cut oatmeal and the dubliner with aged provolone stuffed hash browns. they were both so delicious and pretty "gourmet" as far as diner foods go. now it's time to live on a diet of salads and more salads until christmas break...

quote of the day

“Love shouldn't make a beggar of one. I wouldn't want love if I had to beg for it, to barter or qualify it. And I should despise it if anyone ever begged for my love. Love is something that must be given  -- it can't be bought with words or pity, or even reason.”

comet cafe

currently listening to "the sound of settling" by death cab for cutie

flew into milwaukee last night to spend thanksgiving with my brother. i was famished after spending 7 hours traveling so he took me to milwaukee's best -- the comet cafe. be prepared to be impressed.

we ordered a bloody mary (yes, it came with bacon IN it), milwaukee beer on tap, aj's compact turkey dinner, mac and cheese with chili, meatloaf sandwich, and the menu-secret: akimbo burger. we got a few stares and giggles when all of our food arrived, but im proud to say that we only had to box up the mac and cheese. yea, we dont play games.

watch the video below to see when the comet cafe was featured on diners, drive-ins and dives

oh and dont worry, i had leftover mac this morning... breakfast of champions. happy thanksgiving everyone!!

quote of the day

"People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered; forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere, people may cheat you; be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight; build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous; be happy anyway.
The good you do today will often be forgotten tomorrow; do good anyway.
Give the world the best you've got, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway."
- Mother Teresa
